Java 14 - what's noteworthy and is it worth upgrading?
Sprecher: Martin Losse
With the rapid release cadence of new Java versions it's becoming increasingly hard for developers to stay on top of the changes between versions.
Moreover, whoever has been concerned with a migration between Java versions, is certain to be well aware of the pitfalls you get to know along the way.
This raises the question whether its actually worth the effort to upgrade one's software or wait until support runs out for the current Java version.
This talk aims to achieve two things:
Firstly, we'll highlight the features that are new in Java 14 but we'll also put on spotlight on the developments since Java 11, which is the last LTS release to date.
Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, we'll investigate the common pitfalls between Java 11 and Java 14 and compare that against previous migration experiences.
